In the immediate aftermath of President Trump’s election, for the January/February 2017 issue of Film Comment, Jeff Reichert wrote an essay about the polemical film output of Steve Bannon—the ousted White House insider originally recruited from the far-right extremist media site Breitbart News. Reichert and fellow filmmaker/critic Farihah Zaman went on to direct a documentary on the subject, American Carnage, produced by Field of Vision. We are pleased to present American Carnage on Film Comment’s website, following its work-in-progress screening in October at the New York Film Festival.
